Marta Paulino Silvestre is an Assistant Professor at NOVA Medical School, NOVA University of Lisbon and a researcher at CINTESIS@RISE. After completing her PhD in obesity-related metabolic disorders as a partnership between Queen Mary University of London, UK and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, she moved to New Zealand to be a postdoctoral researcher in a large international diabetes prevention study (2013-2018). In 2018 she returned to Portugal to integrate the research group ProNutri at CINTESIS, at NOVA Medical School, under the leadership of Prof. Conceiçâo Calhau. Marta is conducting experimental and clinical research in the relationship between nutrition, metabolism and health. She is particularly interested in metabolic disorders that affect glycaemic control. She is a lecturer in several pre- and post-graduated courses within the health sciences field.
