Nutricionista, formada pela Faculdade de Ciências da Nutrição e Alimentação da Universidade do Porto (FCNAUP). Mestre em Saúde Pública na área de especialização em Epidemiologia pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto/Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar Doutorada em Ciências do Consumo Alimentar e Nutrição pela FCNAUP/Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto, tendo desenvolvido a sua tese na área do envelhecimento ativo “Hábitos alimentares e peso corporal no envelhecimento: um estudo em idosos europeus”. Participou nos estudos pan-Europeus: Consumer Attitudes to Food Nutrition and Health (1997), Consumer Attitudes to Health, Weight and Physical Activity (1999), HealthSense – Healthy Ageing: how changes in sensory, physiology, sensory psychology and socio-cognitive factors influence food choice (2000), Senior Food Quality: choosing foods, eating meals: sustaining independence and quality of life in older people (2005). Atualmente participa nos projetos Eeagrants, Nutrition UP 65 (http://nutritionup65.up.pt/) e Pronutisenior (http://pronutrisenior.com/pt/)

Autora de publicações diversas na área da nutrição no envelhecimento, determinantes do consumo alimentar, nutrição e saúde publica, e hábitos alimentares e alimentação coletiva e gestão.

Membro do Conselho Científico Multidisciplinar da Direção da Sociedade Portuguesa de Geriatria e Gerontologia desde 2012.

  


 

Graduated in Nutrition and Food Sciences, Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences, University of Porto. Master in Public Health (Epidemiology), Faculty of Medicine/Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto. PhD degree in Consumer Sciences in Food and Nutrition, Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences/Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto, with dissertation title: Eating habits and weight status in old age: a study of European elderly.

Involved in the following EU Projects: Consumer Attitudes to Food Nutrition and Health (1997), Consumer Attitudes to Health, Weight and Physical Activity. (1999), Elderly food choice (a work package of the Helthsence: Healthy Ageing: how changes in sensory, physiology, sensory psychology and socio-cognitive factors influence food choice) (2000) and Senior Food Quality: choosing foods, eating meals: sustaining independence and quality of life in older people (2005).

Currently participates in Eeagrants projects, Nutrition UP 65 (http://nutritionup65.up.pt/) and Pronutisenior (http://pronutrisenior.com/pt/).

Author of several publications in the field of nutrition in aging, determinants of food consumption, nutrition and public health, eating habits and food service management.

Member of the Scientific Council of the Multidisciplinary Management of the Portuguese Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology since 2012.
