Pedro Teixeira é Professor Catedrático de Atividade Física, Nutrição e Saúde da Faculdade de Motricidade Humana da Universidade de Lisboa. É licenciado em Educação Física e Desporto, Mestre em Exercício e Saúde e Doutorado em Ciências da Nutrição. Publicou mais de 75 artigos internacionais em revistas com revisão por pares e tem sido investigador em diversos projectos financiados pela pela FCT e Comissão Europeia. É Editor Associado da revista Obesity Facts e membro do Conselho Editorial de várias revistas de referência na área de Medicina Comportamental. É também ex-presidente da International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) e o atual Director do Programa Nacional de Promoção da Atividade Física, da Direção-Geral da Saúde.
Pedro Teixeira is Full Professor of Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Health at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Human Kinetics. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Exercise Science, and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences. He has published over 75 international peer-reviewed articles and has been an investigator in several FCT and European Commission-funded projects. He is an Associate Editor for Obesity Facts and an editorial board member for several reference journals in the area of behavioral medicine. He is a past-president of the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity and the current director for the National Physical Activity Promotion Program at the Portuguese Ministry of Health (DGS).
